Charlotte’s Tea Brack

Makes 1 x 900g/2lb loaf

Ingredients

400g sultanas (or a mix of sultanas, raisins and currants)

100g dried cherries (Glacé or dried sour cherries work)

300ml freshly brewed (and still hot) tea

1 tablespoon treacle (optional)

50g candied peel

200g light brown soft sugar

225g self-raising flour

1 teaspoon baking powder

1 egg, beaten
