I am completely delighted to let you know that I have a new book coming out very soon.
Quick Prep Slow Cook will be published by Hamlyn on 7th November. It contains 100 recipes that should take you around 10 minutes to prepare (many take less than this) which you can then leave to gently cook away and serve at a time of your choosing.
The chapters cover a wide range of vegetarian and vegan recipes, as well as meat and chicken-based recipes (there’s a chapter for each), curries and of course sweet treats for pudding. Should you wish to take a look and consider pre-ordering, click here to be taken through to Amazon who have the book listed early. It will arrive on publication day and would perhaps even be a great Christmas present for friends or family, dare I say it.
I’m immensely proud of this book, not only because the recipes are delicious, but I really hope that it will offer you inspiration for creative but achievable everyday recipes when time can be short. They’re recipes that I hope will bring you and your family as much enjoyment as they have to mine, and will be ones you will return to time and time again. I’ve found myself returning to recipes in the book again and again since I finished writing it, which is always a good sign.
Some of my favourite recipes in the book include a harissa and tomato chickpea stew, lamb birria tacos, beef rendang and an amazingly sticky date and treacle sticky toffee pudding.
And if you don’t have a slow cooker already, fear not! The savoury dishes all work in a saucepan on the hob or in a pan in the oven if needed, although a slow cooker is a pretty useful and relatively inexpensive piece of kit that should save a little on energy consumption.
My sincere thanks to agents Heather and Elly and the entire team at Hamlyn who have worked on this, including Natalie, Kate, Ailie, Erin and Yasia, plus Henrietta, Charlie, Tamsin and Vicky who helped to bring it to life and whip it into shape.
Huge congratulations, Charlotte. Sounds fab.
Congratulations, Charlotte.
